A day for the Mille Lacs Band and McGregor/Tamarack community to come together, celebrate our shared culture, and stand united in protecting the water that sustains us all. 

About the Event 

Join us at Big Sandy Lodge & Resort for the second annual Water Over Nickel Day—a free, family-friendly gathering rooted in our connection to land and water. Celebrate with: 

  • Live music by the Fry Bread Band 

  • Summer grill out (free meal for attendees!) 

  • Giveaways 

  • Family activities: cornhole, dunk tank, games, and more 

  • Meet Water Over Nickel partners and allies 

  • Lodging available for purchase at Big Sandy 

Who’s Invited? 

This event welcomes Mille Lacs Band members and the McGregor/Tamarack community. Admission, food, and all activities are free—no RSVP or registration is needed. Just come as you are!
